Hoosier native Joey Feek country music duo Joey + Rory is still alive, but has entered a "deep sleep", Rory wrote in a blog on Monday.
He said his body is rapidly closing.
"The hospice nurse came back this morning and Joey said most-likely only be with us for a few days ... at most," he said.
Feek is waging a battle against cancer. Last year, it was revealed that his cancer was terminal. treatments stopped and is spending his last days in his hometown of Alexandria, surrounded by family and friends.
Joey had previously said it had two aims: to live to see the second birthday of his daughter and Grammy. Although he did not win the Grammy, the duo said they were honored to be nominated. She was able to be there for her daughter's birthday.
Before entering the "deep sleep", he told his daughter, Indiana, who wanted her and "mama is watching over you." Rory said Joey gave his daughter "one last kiss."
Joey said he knows he has done every day count.
Rory wrote on the blog before going to sleep, Joey said, "I do not regret ... I can honestly say, I've done everything I wanted to do and lived the life I always wanted to live."
Rory ended his blog post with a note to those who have followed the path of his wife.
"And thanks to all who have followed my wife's beautiful journey. They are still following. Although our hearts are heavy all have to do our best to remember that this is not the end. It's just the beginning.
