Peculiar video shows a population of 'survivors' of contamination that have adapted by growing lush nose hair.

The smoke that permeates the sky of the capital - and many other major cities - at some point is so pervasive that it can almost turn day into night and forcing children to stay indoors.

an environmental group, worried that residents in China's cities are increasingly accustomed to pollution softness, have now produced a video which raises the question in a peculiar way.

The video shows a dystopia where people in China, have adapted to the air for long growing mustaches - actually nose-taches - to filter the smoke.

"Look at them - survivors of the age of the pollution," says a narrator. On the screen are scenes of street children, couples, businessmen and even a dog with the long-taches nose.

In a billboard of a fashion model it is shown advertising a product for hair care. From his nostrils flowing mane of bright, lush hair.

The video ends with a young man saying he will not "blindly send". He looks shaving nose-tache and promising a return to the blue skies that recalled.

"Change air pollution before it changes," says the video, which was produced by WildAid China, as part of its campaign Goblue.

About one-third of China's 1.35 billion people regularly breath smog considered unhealthy by the World Health Organization.
