Worcestershire have announced a profit for the sixth consecutive season, but have said that work continued in what is required "potentially changing and unpredictable moments for cricket."

The county recorded a surplus of £ 182,412 after tax for the period ended December 31, 2015, following a surplus of £ 58,772 in 2014.

They said that the promising results have come from making Worcestershire, and specifically its land in the new way, a company throughout the year with conference facilities and hotel and also the structure of the academy.

David Leatherdale, the head of the outgoing executive who is leaving to assume the same role in the PCA, said: "The year 2015 has once again demonstrated the promise and progress, both on and off the field, with increased revenue through membership, tickets and events and we are starting to see the fruits of the players being brought through the academy vibrant clubs over the past five years, it's only going to continue.

"The club is in a very different and more positive place five years ago and has made great progress.

"However, there is still much more to see what they are potentially changing and unpredictable for cricket moments, both nationally and globally, and it is vital that we manage our cost base and margins going forward to continue to benefit of the investment in New road and make a greater investment in the field ".
Worcestershire have three strong overseas firms for the 2016 season with Matt Henry Abbott and Kyle share the summer, while Mitchell Santner, the ALLROUNDER New Zealand, will also join the NatWest T20 Blast.
