D.C. Emancipation Day celebrations are scheduled for Saturday, but the impact on drivers starts Friday, the day That the government offices are closed and the traffic rules change.

Parking
Most parking regulations, treats including weekday rush-hour parking restrictions, expired meters, residential parking and street sweeping will be suspended on Friday, the D.C. Department of Public Works Said. But the department will enforce parking restrictions along the streetcar route Friday on H Street and Benning Road NE.

Normal enforcement of all parking rules will resume on Saturday.
