The Colorado Department of Transportation says there will be about 100 pieces of equipment plows and snow removal working in the metropolitan area. The additional equipment will operate in the mountain passes and through the mountain corridor I-70.

"The reality is our entire fleet will be out by this storm," said CDOT spokeswoman Amy Ford.

CDOT said to make sure you have good tires if you are planning on driving in the mountains.

CDOT also asks drivers to pay attention to road closures. If the road is closed, do not sit on the road and wait for it to reopen. CDOT advised to get off the road or find another place to wait.

CDOT asks all drivers to be aware of road conditions. CDOT says that if people are driving in snow or rain conditions must have food and water to your car.
