The producer and songwriter insists he has "an excellent relationship with Sony 'following reports the company is planning to terminate his contract
Dr. Luke has responded to reports that Sony Music plans to terminate his contract, following growing pressure on the record company on the charge that drugged and sexually assaulted the singer Kesha.
Dr. Luke's attorney, Christine Le Pera, told the Los Angeles Times:.. "This is not true Lucas has an excellent relationship with Sony Their representatives are in regular contact with executives at the highest levels of Sony and this never has arrived ".
The Wrap reported Wednesday that "informed sources," Sony said would end his relationship with composer and producer hitmaking. Imprinting Kemosabe records of Dr. Lucas - which Kesha was signed and has been trying to get out - is part of the Sony empire. The Supreme Court of New York last month Kesha refused permission to end his contract with Kemosabe, causing dozens of artists including Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Adele to provide public support to the artist.
"There is no competition. Kesha has no case in regard to his contract, but can not afford the adeles the world in the streets calling the unsupportive label," a source "familiar with the thinking of senior management," he said to the wrapper. "The fact that this has not already been careful with Luke is confusing, especially for people in the building."
Sony can not fulfill itself to the application of Kesha to be released from his contract. Your contract is with herself Kemosabe, which in turn has separate agreements with Sony.
Kesha supporters are planning another #FreeKesha demonstration outside the headquarters of Sony New York on Friday. They plan to deliver four petitions with 411,000 signatures urging release of the contract. "It's time for Sony to step forward and show that they do not value money over safety and well-being of a woman and artist," said the event page on Facebook. "They have the power to #FreeKesha by not renewing his contract with Dr. Luke and cut ties with Kemosabe."
