School closure: Snowstorm keeps Forest Hills, Grandville, Hudsonville, other students home

Grand Rapids, MI - A snowstorm that began overnight is creating dangerous conditions, forcing the closure of several school districts on Tuesday, March 1.

Forest Hills, Grandville, Allendale, Caledonia, Kenowa Hills, Byron Center, Lowell, West Ottawa, Zeeland, Hudsonville, Rockford, Cedar Springs, Holland, Jenison, Comstock Park, Grand Haven, Norhview and Thornapple Kellogg are among the districts off .

On February 25, a snowstorm forced all school districts in the districts of Kent and Ottawa Middle School to close.

A winter storm warning is in force in the area from the National Weather Service until Wednesday. It is expected to blow and snow accumulation to be constant throughout the day with 5 to 10 inches of snow projected.

Michigan schools are allowed six days of cancellations per year before students have to recover the lost days.
