Why Ubisoft is right to keep the 'Out Of Senior Division hands until launch day

I've been screaming that from all platforms available to me: Pre-release and day of exams launch games with several players are predominantly components is not only bad for consumers, which can be straight up deceptive. Through my coverage I promised not only to call the parties who mistakenly fed in this practice, but also to praise those trying to implement change. Today, it is praise for Ubisoft and the Division, as the publisher even put the game in the hands of the reviewers until it starts.

Most press push back against what I am about to say, but traditional reviews are becoming increasingly irrelevant. Are they still important? Yes. Are they still the de facto way to get impressions of a game? Yes. They are slowly becoming untrusted and victims of the growing backlash? Also if.

Consumers are increasingly seeking ongoing talks about a game. They are looking for gaming experiences live on Twitch (with best serpentines this becomes almost like an interactive test) and for reactions and relatability, not only the analysis and criticism. They are slowly shrinking pre-order hype and adopt a wait and see.

It is a Ubisoft attitude seen, at least with the launch of the division: "Since it is impossible for us to populate the servers in a way that adequately replicates play Division on launch day, employees begin to play the game, along with all others when it's released on March 8 - after the servers officially go live at 00:01 am Eastern time Australia (AEDT), "Ubisoft said in his blog. "[...] We are looking forward to seeing streams, videos and opinions that provide accounts, the final conditions of the game."

Arroyos, videos and opinions. I am fascinated by the language used here. Ubisoft uses the word "reviewers", but does not even use the word "comments" when referring to post-release content. That's interesting to me, and it's nice to see more targeted to your audience. In doing so, they themselves are sacrificing potential sales. After all, some serious software merger could happen on launch day or days that follow.
