Across the country, five states are holding primaries or caucuses in what some call "Super Saturday". Voters in Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine and Nebraska are holding presidential elections preferences.
The first results presented in the caucuses were from Kansas. On the Republican side, electoral officials say that Senator Ted Cruz won. Texas Senator added that his previous victories in Iowa, Alaska, Oklahoma and Texas. On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton defeated Bernie Sanders.
GOP officials say Cruz has also gained in Maine. He came to the state to campaign on Friday, a day after he recovered Trump supporters in Portland.
In Nebraska, election officials say Sanders is projected to grab his second win of the night.
In Louisiana presidential primaries, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump got their first victories of the night.
Trump was later declared the winner in Kentucky Republican caucuses. Previously, Kentucky held a primary election in May, but agreed that a committee earlier this year. Democrats still vote in the regular primary election on May 17.
1,237 delegates are needed to win the Republican nomination for president and 2,383 to win the Democratic nomination.
Rubio campaigned in his home state Saturday. Florida Senator is under pressure to win the March 15 primary state. The winner will claim all 99 state delegates. Trump says he will get the GOP nomination if he wins Florida primary.
